SITHP brought together government ministries, MCC, and implementing partners in Honiara this week for reflection workshops on the programs Accessing Land for Tourism Investment Facilitation (ALTIF) and Forest Value Enhancement Program (FoVEP). The goal: make sure our plans stay aligned with what communities and the economy need most.

Taskforces for both programs reviewed program progress and refined their program logics—the plans that will guide activities into 2026 and beyond.
“The program logic is a roadmap. It allows us to map inputs and turn them into outcomes. It is critical that we keep pace with changing contexts, new information, and evolving program needs,” explained Senior Facilitator Joseph Waleanisia.

For tourism, the updated ALTIF project logic will clarify how SITHP attracts new tourism investment by identifying investable sites for development, engaging potential investors, and reducing barriers that slow investment.
For forestry, FoVEP is working to ensure communities can earn more reliable long-term benefits from forest resources. Discussions included selecting sites for Protected Area Status; preparing communities for alternatives to logging; and aligning policy and governance across Ministries.

“These revisions will be critical to keeping our programs relevant and effective—and ensuring real economic benefits for Solomon Islands,” says SITHP-CCPS Team Leader, Kezia D’Orazio.
